The itinerary, day by day

1. 01

   Arusha to Lake Manyara

   Lake Manyara National Park

   A morning drive to the park, an afternoon through the groundwater forest and out along the lake shore, then up to the Ngorongoro rim.

2. 02

   Ngorongoro Crater

   Ngorongoro Crater

   Descend at dawn for a full morning on the crater floor — lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, and a chance of black rhino. Back up to the rim in the afternoon.

3. 03

   Tarangire, then Arusha

   Tarangire National Park

   Down to Tarangire for a morning among the elephant herds, then the road back to Arusha or the airport.
